Haleon's chief customer officer on what's next in consumer health
Haleon launched this summer after GSK completed the separation of its consumer health business to form the standalone company, which oversees brands including Advil, Excedrin and ChapStick. The Current spoke with Haleon Chief Customer Officer Rachel Marler about the growth of self-care as people focus on prevention, and digital tools that can help to expand access and support health journeys.
For months, there has been speculation about how Shopify would handle Amazon’s rollout of a new service that brings Prime checkout to websites beyond Amazon. MarketPlace Pulse discovered that Shopify’s response is coming at the code level. Merchants adding Buy With Prime are receiving a warning that they are installing an “unsupported external checkout script” that violates Shopify’s Terms of Service, and could compromise customer data. Amazon Warehousing & Distribution is making space available in new facilities for sellers to store bulk inventory. From there, it will automatically replenish supply at a fulfillment center. In some ways, Amazon’s move to take infrastructure that it built and make it available to others recalls how it turned AWS into the cloud leader. In this case, Amazon is also seeking to solve supply chain challenges at a time when warehouse space around the country is limited.
Whether it’s inauthentic influencers or fake reviews, there’s a crisis of credibility emerging as ecommerce becomes more widely adopted. The tangible consequences, Desire Company CEO Eric Sheinkop tells Retail TouchPoints, are returned items and wasted marketing spend. The solution lies in employing experts to build trust. “Reach can be bought, but experience cannot,” Sheinkop said.
Cash App isn’t just peer-to-peer anymore. Cash App Pay can now be used at checkout on ecommerce sites like American Eagle, Aerie and Tommy Hilfiger, with marketplaces such as SHEIN, thredUP and Wish set to follow in the coming months. Along with direct transactions, these stores may be accessed by users scrolling through Cash App’s Discover tab.
