eBay makes 500 layoffs
A new partnership brings shoppable content and delivery together. Roku users will get access to a DoorDash subscription, which will enable them to order meals directly from ads on the streaming platform. With DoorDash serving as the ad provider, the tie-up shows how retail media and CTV can converge.
eBay is the latest ecommerce platform to make large-scale job cuts, reducing 4% of its workforce after a review that took the macroeconomic environment into consideration. The move will also provide room for eBay to create new roles in technology, customer experience and focus categories, CEO Jamie Iannone said.
LadderUp aims to equip more businesses with the latest ecommerce capabilities. It will offer an eight-week training course, funding and Shopify access for local retailers. Shipt is putting a focus on equity, and aims for 50% LGBTQ+ and BIPOC participation. Applications are open through March 6.

Boxed is known as a platform where shoppers can buy bulk products, but it also offers technology and ecommerce services to other brands and retailers through a division called Spresso. Through a deal with Italian food brand Colavita, Boxed will handle inventory management, warehousing and fulfillment through its facility in Union, NJ.
